On My Stereo III

As promised.

Moving In Your Sleep - The dB's
Spirit - Freelove Fenner
My friend Mike's band Freelove Fenner has a new album out that's getting some deserved attention here in Montreal.
Up the Hill Backwards - David Bowie
Motionless - Sian Alice Group

What's on yours?

Wye Oak, esp. "Please Concrete."

Megafaun, esp. "The Fade" or "Find Your Mark." (and I can't believe how much the vocals on "Worried Mind" sound like yours)

I'm enjoying the Sian Alice Group.

Boyda:
The pedal-steel solo on 'The Fade' is really, really nice. Thanks for that.

I'm listening to that Wye Oak song right now. Hmmm.

I'm working on tracking down those Megafaun songs. No luck so far, but...

20 minutes later-

re: 'Worried Mind.' Is that what my voice sounds like? I enjoyed that track.

re: Wye Oak song. I'll be revisiting that one.

i didn't know any of that music, so thanks for the new stuff.

Dave:

1)
I like that Sonic Youth song too. But the lyrics are SO horrible -as usual.

"Anti-War is anti-orgasm..."

"Liberation
--Not your sex slave!
Domination
--Will you behave?"

boo.

I've been enjoying Sonic Youth's 1982 self-titled EP a lot. Richard Edson from 'Stranger Than Paradise' was their drummer on it, and the drums are wicked.

2) Strangely, I'd never listened to Junior Murvin before. I don't think I'm ready to go there yet.

3) I can't find that Doc Ellis song.

4) Sabu. Ha.

5) Can't find it.

Thanks.

re: video clip. Yes. Hopeful. Very.

"Those who [listen to music together] stay together." Right?

Thanks Matt. I had all that music with my UK Spotify software, but now my 14 day travel allowance is over, and I'm feeling totally bereft of music. Might have to pay the $20/month to keep the subscription in Canada.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the Wye Oak and Megafaun. I am just starting into them.
